מרצה
Prof. James T. Kadonaga
מיקום
Dept of Chemistry Lecture Hall, Building 211, 1st floor, Room 112
Affiliation
Section of Molecular Biology, Division of Biological Sciences, University of California at San Diego

Refreshments will be served at 13:30.

Prof. Kadonaga is a world-renowned scientist who has made seminal contributions to the field of transcriptional regulation and chromatin dynamics over the past 30 years. To list a few of his contributions: the development of sequence-specific DNA-affinity chromatography, the identification of ATP-utilizing chromatin assembly and remodeling factors, the discovery of the first motor protein that rewinds DNA (an annealing helicase), the discovery of new core promoter motifs and the recent discovery of prenucleosomes, noncanonical histone-containing chromatin particles that are a key component of active chromatin.

Prof. Kadonaga has received many awards. To name a few: selection as a Lucille P. Markey Scholar, a Presidential Faculty Fellow Award (awarded by President George Bush, 1992), the 2012 UCSD Chancellor's Associates Faculty Excellence Award for Excellence in Research in Science and Engineering and the Amylin Endowed Chairmanship in Lifesciences Education and Research.
