תואר ראשון בביוטכנולוגיה | מסלול חד-חוגי (.B.Sc)
מה לומדים בתואר ולמה כדאי ללמוד אותו בבר-אילן?
התוכנית בביוטכנולוגיה מכשירה את הלומדים/ות בה כיצד להשתמש בידע ביולוגי לטובת פיתוחים חדשים לרווחת האדם בתחומים כגון התעשייה, הרפואה והחקלאות. הסטודנטים/ות יילמדו כיצד להשתמש בכלים מתקדמים של הנדסה גנטית, ביולוגיה מולקולרית, ביוכימיה וטכנולוגיות חדשניות כדי לקדם פתרונות מחקריים וטכנולוגיים.
בפקולטה פועלות כ-50 קבוצות מחקר בתחומים מגוונים כגון: חקר הסרטן, הזדקנות, אלצהיימר, פוריות, פיתו חיסונים, מיקרוביולוגיה, וירולוגיה, אקולוגיה נוירוביולוגיה ועוד
סגל אקדמי מוביל המורכב מחוקרים וחוקרות פעילים, זוכי פרסים ובעלי שם עולמי.
תשתיות מחקר - מעבדות מתקדמות הכוללות מכשור חדשני.
שיתופי פעולה בין חוקרים לרופאים מבתי חולים בארץ ובעולם.
בוגרי/ות התואר יוכלו לעסוק במחקר ופיתוח בתעשיות מגוונות, תוך מתן מענה לאתגרים גלובליים כמו טיפול במחלות, פיתוח תרופות, שיפור גידולים חקלאיים וייצור חומרים ידידותיים לסביבה.
אילו התנסויות מעשיות יש בלימודים לתואר?
The program includes hands-on experience in teaching laboratories throughout the three years of study. Starting from the second year, students can apply to join a research laboratory within one of the faculty's research groups, subject to availability and the acceptance criteria of each group.

Program Duration: 3 years (6 semesters)
Total Credits for Degree: 144 credits
*1-credit course: A semester-long course, 1 hour per week.
- Core Courses: 111 credits
- Elective Courses: 31 credits
- Seminar: 2 credits
Year 1: Primarily introductory courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, programming, and economics (46 credits, core courses).
Year 2: Core courses in biology, including biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, ecology, physiology, immunology, microbiology, and legal and economic aspects (45 credits, core courses).
Year 3: Core courses (20 credits), seminar (2 credits), and elective courses (31 credits).

Graduates of the Faculty are well-integrated into the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, tech startups, food and agriculture sectors, research institutes, hospitals, clinics, and more. Many of our graduates continue their academic journey with advanced degrees and contribute to pioneering research. Additionally, some graduates pursue the four-year medical track.

English Proficiency: Minimum required score of 85 or higher on the AMIR/AMIRAM exam.
For students who did not complete the Hebrew matriculation exam, a minimum score of 105 on the Yael test.
Mathematics matriculation: Minimum score of 320 (score multiplied by the number of units).
Psychometric exam: Minimum score of 580.
Overall score: Minimum of 63.

The curriculum is based on life sciences and covers topics in technology, economics, law, marketing, and management. In the course "Intellectual Property in Biotechnology," for example, students will learn about the patent application process and the use of patents in industry. Additionally, students will explore the economic and managerial aspects of biotechnology.
