BSc in Life Science and Chemistry (Double Major)

The double major program in Life Sciences and Chemistry offers a unique combination of two core scientific disciplines, providing students with in-depth knowledge and a solid foundation for understanding biological and chemical processes. This integration prepares graduates for advanced careers in both industry and research.

Chemistry courses are taken alongside Chemistry majors, while Biology courses are studied with Life Sciences students, ensuring a deep and focused learning experience in each field. This structure allows students to pursue future academic or professional paths in either discipline—or at the intersection of both.

Admission Requirements

 

Curriculum Structure and Courses

Program Duration: 3 years (6 semesters)
Total Credits for Degree (Track 80250) – 135 Credit Points (CP)
*1 CP course = a semester course of one hour per week.

  • Life Sciences Courses – 56CP 
  • Chemistry Courses –  79CP


Proposed Class Schedule Year 1:Primarily introductory courses in biology, physics, and mathematics (13 credits in Life Sciences core courses).
Proposed Class Schedule Year 2: Core biology courses such as Biochemistry, Genetics, and Molecular Biology (23 credits in Life Sciences).
Proposed Class Schedule Year 3: Mandatory Life Sciences courses (18 credits) and elective courses (2 credits). A seminar in either Chemistry or Life Sciences.

Practical Activities and Experiences Conducted in the Faculty

The Life Sciences curriculum in this program includes hands-on experience in two teaching laboratories: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In addition, the Chemistry curriculum features additional laboratory courses.

Career Opportunities for Graduates

Graduates of the Faculty are well-integrated into the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, tech startups, food and agriculture sectors, research institutes, hospitals, clinics, and more. Many of our graduates continue their academic journey with advanced degrees and contribute to pioneering research. Additionally, some graduates pursue the four-year medical track.
