About the Kanbar Facility for Core Research Equipment
Established in 1995, the Kanbar Facility for Core Research Equipment , located within the Faculty of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University, provides advanced research and development infrastructure. The facility offers cutting-edge technologies in areas such as next-generation sequencing (NGS), microscopy, imaging, cell sorting, and metabolomics. The team consists of leading experts who provide professional support to researchers across the campus and external academic and industrial partners. The facility emphasizes scientific innovation, interdisciplinary collaborations, and customized solutions to diverse research needs.
The facility’s primary goal is to provide state-of-the-art equipment and serve researchers from various fields, including biology, biotechnology, bioengineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, food engineering, materials engineering, physics, and more. The facility serves researchers from Bar-Ilan University, other academic institutions, and the industry.

Key Platform Capabilities
- High-Resolution Accurate Mass (HRAM): Mass resolution up to 480,000 FWHM at m/z 200 for deep metabolic profiling and mass accuracy below 1 ppm.
- Ultra-High Sensitivity: Features sub-femtogram detection capabilities to isolate low-abundance biomarkers.
- Advanced Analytical Features: Equipped with advanced MS/MS fragmentation (HCD and ETD) and multiplexing of up to 20 precursor ions per scan with an extended dynamic range.
