The Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University offers fascinating studies in the field of biology, allowing students to explore the diverse world of life. The Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences equips students with the tools to pursue careers in all areas of life sciences: drug research and development, innovative technologies, basic scientific research, medicine, veterinary sciences, and science education. Graduates of the Life Sciences program can continue their research studies, pursue advanced degrees, or join the four-year medical track offered at medical schools.
This program is particularly recommended for students who wish to pursue medical studies (four-year track). Please note: Admission decisions are made solely by the medical schools.
Activities and Practical Experience
The program includes hands-on experience in teaching laboratories throughout the first two years of study. Starting from the second year, students can apply to join a research laboratory within one of the faculty's research groups, subject to availability and the acceptance criteria of each group.

Program Structure
Single-Subject Life Sciences (Biology) Program – Track 80-101, 144 Credits
Duration of Studies: 3 Years
Year 1 : Introductory courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
Year 2: Biology courses including biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, physiology, immunology, and ecology, along with mandatory and elective laboratory courses.
Year 3: Mandatory courses, elective courses, and seminars based on areas of interest, such as: memory and learning, drug development, human-machine interaction, aging, microbiome, fertility, the impact of drugs on the brain, and more.

Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Faculty are integrated into the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, tech startups, food and agriculture sectors, research institutes, clinical trial units, government offices, as well as teaching and training positions, medical laboratories in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, and more. Our graduates continue on to advanced degrees or the four-year medical track, leading the future in research and innovation.
Admission Requirements
English Proficiency: Minimum required score of 85 or higher on the AMIR/AMIRAM exam.
For students who did not complete the Hebrew matriculation exam, a minimum score of 105 on the Yael test.
Mathematics matriculation: Minimum score of 320 (score multiplied by the number of units).
Psychometric exam: Minimum score of 530.
Overall score: Minimum of 58.5.
