B.Sc. in Biotechnology (Single Major)
The Biotechnology program equips students with the knowledge to apply biological sciences for the development of new innovations that benefit humanity in fields such as industry, medicine, and agriculture. Students will learn to utilize advanced tools in genetic engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, and innovative technologies to advance research and technological solutions.
- The Faculty hosts approximately 50 research groups in diverse fields, including cancer research, aging, Alzheimer’s, fertility, vaccine development, microbiology, virology, ecology, and neurobiology.
- The academic staff consists of leading researchers, award winners, and internationally renowned experts.
- Research Infrastructure includes state-of-the-art laboratories with cutting-edge equipment.
- Collaborations between researchers and medical professionals from hospitals in Israel and abroad.
Graduates of the program will be prepared to engage in research and development across various industries, addressing global challenges such as disease treatment, drug development, agricultural improvement, and the production of environmentally friendly materials.
Admission Requirements English Proficiency: Minimum required score of 85 or higher on the AMIR/AMIRAM exam.

Courses The curriculum is based on life sciences and covers topics in technology, economics, law, marketing, and management. In the course "Intellectual Property in Biotechnology," for example, students will learn about the patent application process and the use of patents in industry. Additionally, students will explore the economic and managerial aspects of biotechnology. Practical Activities and Experiences Conducted in the Faculty The program includes hands-on experience in teaching laboratories throughout the three years of study. Starting from the second year, students can apply to join a research laboratory within one of the faculty's research groups, subject to availability and the acceptance criteria of each group. |
Career Opportunities for Graduates Graduates of the Faculty are well-integrated into the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, tech startups, food and agriculture sectors, research institutes, hospitals, clinics, and more. Many of our graduates continue their academic journey with advanced degrees and contribute to pioneering research. Additionally, some graduates pursue the four-year medical track. |
