OPEN POSITION FOR A LAB MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A full time position is available for a lab manager in a brand new laboratory at the department of Pathology, Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. The research is focused on the fields of systems immunology, tumor immunology, immunotherapies and high throughput genetics. This is a managerial position with emphasis on guidance and training of students in lab techniques as well as, some aspects of routine lab maintenance. The candidate will also be encouraged to take part in research projects, either independently or in collaboration with other lab members.

The position involves managing the day-to-day operations of the lab. Duties include ordering and maintaining lab reagents and stocks; keeping track of a mouse colony; writing and amending animal and biohazard protocols; enforcing lab policies and safety standards; doing experiments using tumor mouse models, cell culture, molecular work; and communicating with and coordinating the activities of a diverse group of lab members (computational and experimental). 

REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for a motivated and well-organized; detail-oriented independent individual with a Ph.D. degree and a strong background in the biological sciences preferably cancer immunology, with expertise in the following areas: cell culture, mouse handling, molecular biology, immunological assays and scientific writing. Most importantly, the candidate must work well in team environments with strong communication and organization skills.
